The Scientific Learning® family of programmes is designed to strengthen brain processing skills and increase reading proficiency in children of all ages, with results that are enduring.
Just as a body runs better and quicker when fit, brains learn better after shaping up with Fast ForWord exercises. The key is processing efficiency, and students around the globe, regardless of native language, are using the Fast ForWord Family of Programmes to develop the cognitive skills that enhance learning, leading to academic success.
Fast ForWord programmes develop the cognitive skills essential for learning and reading success. On average, participants gain 1 – 2 years of reading skills in 8 – 12 weeks of regular, consistent use. The programmes help bring participants to proficiency quickly by simultaneously building the cognitive skills of memory, attention, processing rate, and sequencing, along with the foundational reading skills of phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension.
Scientific Learning Progress Tracker is an online data analysis and reporting tool that enables educators to monitor individual, classroom, or school performance of students working with Fast ForWord programmes. It provides clear, action-oriented information showing student progress over time, in specific reading and cognitive skills areas.
Reading Assistant software combines advanced speech recognition technology with scientifically-based interventions to help students strengthen their reading fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Reading Assistant software “listens” as a participant reads out loud. When the participant is challenged by a word, the software provides an example of correct pronunciation. The feedback to participants is non-judgmental, supportive, and individualized for those who have had minimal or no success in the past. Guided oral reading is a proven method for improving reading fluency.
