Adult: "After five months on the Neuron Learning Programme I am reading passages from books at meetings "

 Dear John & Joyce.

I would like to thank you both for giving me the chance of being able to Read and Spell with the help of the Neuron Learning Programme. I thought over the last forty odd years since I left school that there was no way that I would ever be able to pick up a book or newspaper and read it like I can now.

I have been scared all of my life of the pressure of someone asking me, what does that mean, or what does this form say, in work, or out socialising, it was very stressful for me. When my children were small and needed help with their homework and reading I would pretend that I was busy doing something else or that I had to go out somewhere. It used to take me all my time to catch the headlines on a newspaper so how could I help anyone else.

I refused to take up positions of employment because of my learning difficulty, I used to think I was stupid, and that I was lazy, and good for nothing, I hated filling in forms,. I would always ask someone else to fill them in for me, and then I would sign them.

I have worked in car repairs and spray-painting all my life, since I left school but in January 2003 I had an accident which rendered me incapable of continuing to do any strenuous manua!work and I was faced with the problem of finding ajob that suited my disability. With little or no Education as I left school at thirteen and a half I felt I was in Limbo.

It was only when I got an assessment done by a psychologist in the summer of 2005 that I was diagnosed with Dyslexia, it was a great shock to the system at first but then it dawned on me that this is the explanation I had been looking for, for most of my life, but then I was faced with the question what am I going to do about this now. I searched all over Ireland, UK. and America on the Net to see if there was anyone out there that could help me, I was fifty one years old at this stage. I found a course in Cellsbridge in County Kildare that could have helped me as an adult Dyslexic, but I would have to move away from home for six months Monday to Friday, I tried this for a week but because I suffer from anxiety and panic attacks it did not suit to be away from my family and friends. So I was back to square one what was I going to do?

Then a friend of mine showed me an advert in a paper it was about a computer programme for children with Dyslexia and other learning difficulties. I was a bit hesitant to ring the number as I thought this is for children, they probably won't entertain me. I rang and I spoke to a man, and an interview followed the same day, at the interview I met you John you made me feel so comfortable and when I said I did not think it would work for me because I was an adult, you told me to give it a try. You, yourself John had no doubt but that the Programme would help me.

I started the programme and I mentioned to you, John that it was my short term memory that I had most difficulty with. At first I thought it was a bit childish doing block command etc, but when I saw the results I was getting, and realised that my memory was improving unbelievably,. I felt for the first time in my life that maybe I could do some course that would help me further my education and get me back to work again.

After five months on the Neuron Learning Programme I am reading passages from books at meetings that I attend on a regular basis. I am also going to College learning Architectural Draughting and CAD, and I feel my confidence has soared because at last I can remember what I am after reading and also I can see pictures when I read words as opposed to just concentrating so hard to read and not understanding one word of what I was reading. I feel like I have been reborn in the spelling, and reading department. My short term memory has improved so much I can now remember where I put things like my keys for example, and I can also recall things that I have heard at a lecture maybe even the week before which is brilliant for me. Things just seem to pop into my head now where as before I would have to rack my brain to try tc remember something.

This programme is my Miracle, it is unbelievable, it takes me on a journey that I want to keep goin~ on until I reach the en~ and I get rewarded so well along the way. For anyone that is lost in the fog like I was, I would recommend that they try this programme. My fog has definitely lifted and it is all thanks to John and his wife Joyce who have given me so much to look forward to in my life. My deepest appreciation is sent to you both for showing me the Neuron Way oflife. I thank you, and my wife and family thank you from the bottom of our Hearts.

Yours sincerely
